Foundations of Anthropology

Anthropology is the study of humans across all facets of life including culture, religion, social aspects, and how these few examples intertwine with each other. Anthropology is vast and stretches on all aspects of what it means to be human. A key component is to disregard one's own personal biases to accurately portray a human behavior or normalcies. My name is Emily Kirkland and I am currently in my third year of college studying health sciences. My career goal is to become a physician's assistant and obtain a master's degree in health sciences. I was recently a student at the University of South Florida, and after some extenuating circumstances, had to move back home to Panama City, Florida where I am continuing my education at Gulf Coast State College. After this semester I will again be attending the University of South Florida to complete my academic goals.  One topic I am interested in in anthropology is medical anthropology . Since I am pursuing a career in medicine, this concept will aid in my overall understanding of both medicine and anthropology. I want to learn more of the foundations of medicine and its development overtime through different cultures and beliefs. My career study will focus more on biomedicine rather than holistic medicine or ethnomedicine , but I want to strengthen my over knowledge of all as...
